Why Creativity Is So Important

creativity
Expressing yourself is an awesome thing. Being able to create, build, draw, sing, compose, write, and such in ways that express who you are and what you love is a gift we all have. And we all have it to enjoy and share with other to enjoy as well. Being able to have the time to get back to doing what we love may not be so easy at times, but finding that time can truly contribute to a healthy and important balance in our lives.
Consider some of the reasons we express ourselves creatively. Simply put its fun! Who doesn't want to do what they love? Doing things that we consider fun is a great stress reliever and it contributes to a happier you. Being consumed in an activity you love can calm us and cause us to be more focused.
Being able to create something unique from nothing is magical. It builds a self confidence within us that strengths us and our positive outlook. Being creative helps us feel challenged and learn to overcome those challenges. It makes us more interesting people and in turn attracts others to us.
Important to note too is the effect expressing creativity can have on our relationships with others. When we exercise our creative part of the brain we build our ability to manage conflict, communicate with others, and understand moods. When we develop these skills we are better able to understand to a better extent what affects others and why. It is really quite extraordinary how in children and adults being able to use your creative talents helps us grow and build our relationships. We learn, play, relax, and evolve.
Along with stimulating our brains, creativity can have a positive effect as we grow older as well. Studies show that creativity sharpens the brain, allowing the possible slowing of dementia in old age. As we continue to use our brains, we keep it in top shape just as exercise keeps our bodies fit. The benefits carry with us throughout our lifetime.
We can see clearly the effect stress has and not allowing time to renew our minds and bodies. It can be devastating. Taking time to do the things we love, in whichever creative way will do for us the opposite. However you look at it, being creative benefits our health. Mentally, emotionally, physically we thrive. Why not take some time now to get back to what you love. You'll have some fun and it's so very important!
